Flipboard App Review

Initially released to the public in 2010 by Flipboard Inc., the Flipboard app creates a personalized magazine out of everything being shared with you and delivers it right to your Iphone, Ipad, Ipod and Android  This app allows the user to flip through Facebook newsfeed, Google+ Circles, tweets from your Twitter timeline, photos from Instagram, videos from YouTube, while still connecting them to current events. Flipboard can be filled with things you like to read, from niche blogs to publications like The New York Times and Rolling Stone. This app creates a single hotspot that allows easy access to your desired social media as well as subjects of interests such as sports, art and technology. According to McCue and Doll (the inventors,) the idea for the application was invented during a brainstorming session between the two, during which they tried to imagine what the web would look like if it were designed from scratch. In result, the couple came up with a design, which placed emphasis on the social web and the ability to consume content in a graphical magazine-like format, which finally was transformed into the multipurpose app. This beautifully designed app won Apple's iPad App of the Year, one of TIME's Top 50 Innovations, the top social app at the 2012 Webby Award and several other awards.

  • Connects you to several social media's simultaniously
